FAKE DATING TO REAL DATING IS ALL I EVER WANT FROM MY CONTEMPORARY ROMANCES

My favorite sort of contemporaries are ones that are cute with humor This was a fun story with a super adorable dose of romance Of course there were factors that came along that broke the leads apart, and I did get stressed out during those aspects But I can understand why, especially with them being teens.Brett was swoony and gentlemanly, while Becca was an awesome girl who loved to read Just my kind of characters Also, there was a bakery and talk about desserts, and that alone would have sucked me in The dialogue was punchy and the writing made it a real page turner It s definitely a great summer read

2.5 starsNot bad, but definitely not memorable for me The Upside of Falling is a fun fake dating story, but it all felt a little rushed so I didn t connect with the characters and by extension the relationship as much as I wanted too But I did like the focus on family we got and there were plenty of cute moments to make this a super quick story to read I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars I really enjoyed this very cute YA contemporary romance It was so pure and sweet Firstly, I think I am probably a little too old for this book although that didn t stop me from loving it and reading it in 24 hours. The main characters Becca and Brett were brilliant Characters full of heart and goodness Not a player in sight The back story of Becca was good, although I believe it was resolved too easily and that the scene with her dad was a little unrealistic I loved the side characters including Cassie and Becca s mum and wish there were scenes with them in I hope this series continues with a second book about Cassie Fingers crossed The book involved fake dating to real dating which I have read alot of recently, so the idea certainly isnt new but I did enjoy it I also think that it was rather unrealistic in how some pretty major problems got resolved so easily I think the author could have taken time on the deeper aspects and less on talking about Jelly Bells yes, I get they like them but just mentioned too much Although I did have some problems with the book, it was a very cute YA romance that I am sure will be a success I really enjoyed reading it as I was in need of an easy read, but I do think there are slightly better similar books out there Thank you to Harper360 for gifting this book in exchange for an honest review.

There was something equal parts enjoyable and equal parts off about this one I can t put my finger on what I didn t love It might have been the tone Not really sure All in all it was a very quick read though.

Both had their reasons for not dating, but when Brett heard Becca being teased about her single status, he stepped in, and assumed the role of her doting fake boyfriend The longer the charade continued, the they began to enjoy each other s company, but would family drama derail this blossoming relationship This was super cute with quite a bit of weightier moments sprinkled throughout I had a great time reading this book, and below are five things that added to my enjoyment How could I resist Becca She was a dedicated bookworm, and much preferred fictional romance to that of real life My heart ached for her, as she grappled with her father s abandonment for so many years Some of the most painful moments involved Becca and her feelings about being left behind by her father and her best friend, and it was something that was definitely holding her back I loved Brett He was so affable and easy to be around He was a star fake boyfriend, and he totally made me swoon, especially when he requested she read to him It was lovely watching this arrangement turn into a friendship and then a full fledged relationship Becca and Brett did not appear to belong together, but it didn t take long to see that they found comfort in one another, and enjoyed the freedom to just be themselves, when together They also had great chemistry, and I was treated to some great banter too Becca s mom owned a bakery and there were so many baked goods in this story I will never turn down cakes or pastries in a book The ending was too precious, and left me a huge grin on my face You know what I wish Though I appreciated the family drama and thought it added some substance to the story, I wish we had had a little of less of that, and bit time exploring the relationship between Becca and Brett, because the moments I did get were sweet and swoony, and I absolutely wanted of them Overall This was an adorable romance The progression from fake to real felt natural, and I loved getting to see that bond evolve over the course of this book ARC provided in exchange for an honest review BLOG INSTAGRAM TWITTER BLOGLOVIN FRIEND ME ON GOODREADS
